Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing practice which releases blockages in the physical, emotional and spiritual body. ‘Rei’ is ‘universal or higher power’ and ‘Ki’ is life energy (the equivalent of Chinese Qi) so Rei-ki accesses the universal life force energy and with positive intention allows its optimal flow to and within the body, allowing  a natural healing.

Reiki can help with physical symptoms, easing muscles and regenerating the body, mental symptoms such as stress and anxiety. Reiki helps to balance the energies in your body so that you are better able to sleep, concentrate, and focus on the tasks at hand without getting stressed.

It is gentle yet powerful practice that will feel nurturing.

Reiki is practised with the client fully clothed, either lying on a treatment table or seated as the therapist places her hands either above or on the body, working both on the chakras and the areas of the body that require healing.

All treatments are unique and everyone will feel different during and afterwards. You may feel relaxed and sleepy, and often as if there is a glowing radiance or warmth on your body. Sometimes as energetic channels are cleared, emotions  are released, manifesting perhaps as joy, tears, vibrations. With all treatments you are in safe, caring space with confidentiality at all times.

Reiki treatments last one hour with an extra 20 minute consultation on your first session. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding Reiki or the treatment.

I am trained in Usui Reiki. Mikao Usui was the founder of reiki as it is practiced today, who developed the system in the 1920s in Japan. Hawayo Takata, a Japanese woman, later spread the teachings of Reiki, to the West.

The secret art of inviting happiness
The miraculous medicine of all diseases
Just for today, do not anger
Do not worry and be filled with gratitude
Devote yourself to your work. Be kind to people.
Every morning and evening, join your hands in prayer.
Pray these words to your heart
and chant these words with your mouth
-Usui Mikao
