This Kiwi Matcha Green Smoothie is a satisfying balance of zesty and creamy and with the green tea matcha, gives a much needed energy boost in the morning aswell as those cleansing greens.
For 2 large servings
1 ½ cups of ‘milk’ (I used a mix of goats milk kefir* and organic soya milk)
2 kiwi fruits, peeled
½ banana
2 cups of greens (spinach, kale etc)
Squirt of lime juice
½ teaspoon of matcha tea powder**
Optional:
Sprig of fresh mint leaves
2 tablespoons of protein powder
1 teaspoon of wheatgrass powder
Chopped cucumber
Chia seeds on top once its in the glass
Unless you have the best of the best blenders, which I don’t, its always best to blend the greens with the liquid first before adding anything else to get a smoother texture.

A jar of green goodness- plants aren’t actually growing from out of it but it might taste that green
Use whatever you have and experiment to find what you taste and consistency you like. Just us this approximate ratio.
General Green Smoothie Ratio in cups
Liquid base =2 (nut milks, coconut water, water….)
Greens =2 (Kale, spinach, pack choi, lettuce, parsley….)
Fruit =1 to 2 (depends on sweetness and juiciness)
* Kefir is a drink made from fermenting the kefir grain in milk and is full of probiotic bacteria for healthy digestion and immunity. I will do a post on how I make mine soon.
